Fleas are extremely good at withstanding hunger. They can survive several months to even a year when they experience complete starvation. However, female fleas can only lay eggs when they have had a feast. The reproductive capability of fleas are very impressive, one flea can produce 4000 eggs. The jumping ability of fleas is surprising and they well deserve to be the world champion for jumping. The highest they can jump is above 19 cm which is approximately 66 times the length of their bodies. The farthest they can jump is approximately 33 cm which is about 132 times the length of their bodies. From this perspective, the high jump and long jump world records for humans are insignificant.
