How to identify it?
Male
Males have conspicuous pterostigmata. Its wings base with a large black area. And a white area in the middle of the wings. In later growth stages, some individuals cast off the body powder, exposing the original abdomen patterns.
Female
Female bodies are usually not powdery, so the yellow patterns are clear. They have a large black area at the wing base that almost reaches the middle wing section.
Adult
The widow skimmer has a pair of huge compound eyes and setaceous antennae. Both wings are basically perpendicular to the body. The pronotum and abdomen are dusted with greyish-white powder.
