Description
While the Anyphaena might not be as famous as some of its venomous kin, these spiders are quite the pacifists of the arachnid world, primarily preying on small insects. Contrary to the aggressive stereotypes often associated with spiders, Anyphaena species are neither dangerous to humans nor do they possess venom potent enough to be of concern. Their unique 'buzzing' behavior, produced during courtship or when threatened, often leads to their misidentification as 'buzzing bees' among the foliage.
