Description
Aphididae might be tiny but their impact on agriculture is colossal. Interestingly, Aphididae are born pregnant and do not need to mate to produce offspring—a phenomenon known as parthenogenesis. Aphididae can also switch from asexual to sexual reproduction based on environmental conditions, showcasing a remarkable adaptability. Their ability to rapidly multiply makes them fascinating subjects for studies on evolutionary biology and ecological interactions.
