Description

Often mistaken for hazardous beings, members of the genus Araneus are actually garden-variety architects of the arachnid world. Famous for their wheel-shaped webs, these spiders are masterful in their craft, creating intricate designs purely from proteinaceous spider silk. Contrary to popular belief, Araneus spiders are generally harmless to humans, feeding primarily on insects caught in their webs. Their bite, while rare, causes minimal effects, serving as a minuscule reminder of their presence rather than a peril.
