Description
Bombus, often mistaken for their more aggressive relatives, actually play a crucial role in our ecosystems as efficient pollinators. Unlike what many might think, Bombus species are generally gentle and only sting defensively. They are vital for pollinating numerous plants, including some crops, which contributes significantly to global food security. Their distinctive bumbling flight and fuzzy appearance are adaptations for cold weather, allowing them to thrive in cooler climates where other pollinators might struggle.
