Description

Unlike common myths about trapdoor spiders attacking humans, Bothriocyrtum species are reclusive and primarily focus on catching small invertebrates. They construct silk-lined burrows with camouflaged lids, a remarkable example of natural engineering. This ingenious trapdoor mechanism allows them to launch surprise attacks on passing prey, showcasing an exceptional adaptation strategy within their ecological niche.
