Little bear moth
Scientific name: Brachodidae
Description
The Brachodidae, a lesser-known family of small moths. Rumor has it that these moths are supremely adapted pyrophilous creatures, not only attracted to forest fires but also able to thrive in fire environments. This is an interesting but poorly verified claim. The more likely truth is that Brachodidae are able to detect survival opportunities in post-fire forests more quickly than other creatures, taking advantage of these differences in time, space, and resources, and reproducing so rapidly that people have misinterpreted the observation that adult Brachodidae often appear in large numbers after forest fires.
