Description
The Cimbex genus encompasses some of the largest sawfly species, often mistaken for wasps due to their similar appearance. However, unlike wasps, Cimbex larvae are herbivorous, feeding mainly on leaves and rarely posing any sting threats to humans. Intriguingly, their mimicry serves as a clever defense mechanism against predators, leveraging the wasp's fearsome reputation to avoid becoming a meal themselves.
