Net-casting spiders
Scientific name: Deinopidae
Description
Deinopidae are not malevolent creatures lurking in the dark; instead, they utilize their unique, net-casting method to capture prey. This involves spinning a small web which they hold between their front legs and then stretch to ensnare unsuspecting insects. Contrary to the fearsome image their name might conjure, Deinopidae have excellent night vision, surpassing that of cats and even owls, which they use to precisely time their attacks in the dead of night.
