Description

Found fluttering in and around woodland areas, members of the Dryocampa genus present a striking image with their vividly colorful wings. Contrary to what one might think, these creatures do no harm to humans despite their eye-catching appearance. The larvae of Dryocampa are equally interesting, exhibiting unique, decorative spines that are purely defensive and pose no threat to their human admirers.
