Description

The Efferia genus is a striking group of robber flies, renowned for their predatory skills. These adept hunters perch silently, scanning for prey, and then launch into agile flights to capture other insects mid-air. Despite their fierce appearance, Efferia species play a critical role in controlling pest populations, thus contributing to the balance of ecosystems. They are often mistaken for aggressive towards humans, but they focus their energy on insect prey and are harmless unless provoked.
