Description
Members of Eulophidae play a critical role as parasitoids, predominantly targeting the larvae of other insects. Often, they are enlisted in biological control programs to naturally mitigate pest populations, providing a stark contrast to harmful chemical pesticides. Interestingly, despite their beneficial impact on agriculture, the notion persists that all wasps are aggressive or dangerous to humans, a misconception largely stemming from a few well-known species. In reality, the Eulophidae are usually harmless to humans and go about their ecological duties unnoticed.
