Description

Many species within Heleomyzidae possess the remarkable ability to thrive in cold environments, such as caves and cooler latitudes – a trait rare among flies. Scientific curiosity peaks as these flies demonstrate a unique tolerance to low temperatures, showcasing an antifreeze-like substance in their bodily fluids.
