Description

The Holorusia genus may not be a household name, but these creatures are giants in their own world. Holorusia species are often mistaken for oversized mosquitoes. Yet, unlike their blood-sucking lookalikes, Holorusia members are harmless, lacking the mouthparts necessary for biting. These crane flies are fascinating for their size, with some species among the largest of their kind, showcasing wing spans that can be a marvel to entomologists and casual observers alike.
