Description
Leptoglossus species are identified by their leaf-like expansions on the legs, mistaken commonly as mere decorative camouflage. However, these structures play a critical role in disrupting the visual and sensory tracking abilities of predators, enhancing survival. Contrary to some beliefs, Leptoglossus do not damage crops by introducing diseases but by physically feeding on them, particularly on seeds, thus can impact agricultural yield directly.
