Description
Lethocerus species are fascinating for their size and predatory skills. These aquatic insects are among the largest in their realm, with some species growing up to four inches long. Equipped with formidable front legs, they prey on fish, amphibians. Contrary to popular myth, Lethocerus do not pose a threat to humans, although their bite can be painful due to their use in injecting a digestive saliva that liquefies the insides of their prey, allowing them to suck out the contents.
