Booklice
Scientific name: Liposcelididae

Description

The Liposcelididae family, better known as booklice or psocids, might not be as infamous as their relatives the lice, yet they lead a fascinating secretive life mostly within our homes. Despite their common name, booklice are not true lice and don't bite or transmit diseases to humans. Rather, these tiny insects thrive in damp environments, feeding primarily on mold and fungi, which often makes them uninvited guests around old books and papers.
