Description

The Megarhyssa genus, famous for its dramatic ovipositor, showcases a marvel of evolutionary engineering. These insects, often mistaken for menacing species due to their lengthy appendage, are actually harmless to humans. Their ovipositor, resembling a fearsome stinger, is ingeniously designed for laying eggs inside wood where their larvae feed on wood-boring grubs.
