Description
The Micrathena genus, a unique group of spiders, is known for the females' strikingly spiny abdomens, a feature that is not only a defense mechanism but also a fascinating example of evolutionary design. Contrary to what one might think, these spikes don't make them dangerous to humans; instead, they mainly deter predators. They weave intricate webs usually in wooded areas, showcasing an incredible architectural ability, which adds an artistic touch to their otherwise fierce appearance.
