Description

Murgantia belongs to a genus of insects known for their unique defensive mechanism. When threatened, these creatures release a foul-smelling substance from glands located on their thorax, effectively deterring most predators. Contrary to popular belief, the odor won't harm humans but can make them quite unwelcome in gardens due to their taste for vegetable crops. Fascinatingly, their bright coloration serves as a warning sign, alerting potential threats to their pungent capabilities.
