Scientific name: Nemopteridae
Description
Members of the Nemopteridae family, often known as spoon-winged lacewings, are a captivating ensemble within the insect world. Despite their delicate appearance, these insects are formidable predators during their larval stage, adept at hunting down prey with a unique hunting method of using adhesive-coated pits to trap smaller insects. The adults, in contrast, are known for their beautifully elongated hindwings which resemble elegant ribbons or spoons, fluttering gracefully as they feed on pollen and nectar.
