Description
These tiny insects within Nepticulidae, with adult wingspans averaging just a few millimeters, engage in a fascinating ecological dance as leaf miners during their larval stage. A common misconception is that their diminutive size limits their ecological role. However, Nepticulidae caterpillars create intricate, serpentine tunnels in leaves, influencing not only the aesthetic value of plants but also the plant's ability to photosynthesize.
