Description

Neriidae is also known as banana flies. This may be because the color of common species is similar to bananas, or it may be because they are easily attracted to rotten fruits, such as bananas. Unlike common flies, Neriidae always appears to be more slender and has more slender and elegant legs, which often makes observers doubt its identity as a fly.
