Nogodinid planthoppers
Scientific name: Nogodinidae
Nogodinid planthoppers
Scientific name: Nogodinidae
Description
Nogodinidae, like other planthoppers, carries a straw (its mouth) with it to pierce leaves or stems, and then suck absolutely fresh juice from them to satisfy its hunger. Although they all belong to Nogodinidae, the appearance of different species is quite different. They can be mainly divided into two categories (in taxonomy, they are considered to be two different subfamilies). One type has a body that is flattened laterally and looks like a line when viewed from above; the other type has wings that are so generously spread out that observers may mistake it for some kind of moth with transparent wings.
