Description
Osmia are a fascinating group of bee species, often overshadowed by their honey-producing cousins but equally important for plant pollination. Unlike the common honeybee, members of Osmia are solitary creatures, each female constructing individual nests out of mud or other plant materials. Intriguingly, while Osmia are generally peaceful, their nesting habits and ability to utilize vacant snail shells or hollow twigs as homes demonstrate an exceptional adaptability and resourcefulness in the insect world.
