Description

Unlike their more famous cousins, the dragonflies, members of Platycnemididae have notably slender legs adorned with conspicuous spurs which serve to perfectly position them amidst dense vegetation, often mistaken for delicate twigs or leaves. This camouflage is not merely protective but a strategic predatory advantage, allowing them to ambush unsuspecting prey.
