Members of Porrhothelidae are mainly nocturnal hunters, using their exquisitely sensitive hairs to detect vibrations from prey. A common misconception is that all spiders aggressively pursue or attack humans; however, those in the Porrhothelidae family are generally reclusive and only exhibit defensive behavior when threatened.
