Description
Members of the Rhinophoridae family, commonly referred to as woodlouse flies, boast a fascinating parasitoid lifestyle. These flies specifically target woodlice, deploying a highly specialized reproductive strategy. A female lays her eggs where woodlice are abundant, and once hatched, the larvae invade their host. Contrary to common misconceptions, these flies pose no threat to humans, nor are they interested in typical household pests aside from their chosen prey.
