Description
Despite its alarming appearance, Scutigera is not only harmless but beneficial in controlling household pests. Often mistaken for both spiders and insects, Scutigera actually belongs to the class Chilopoda . Unlike its creepy-crawler counterparts, it possesses the ability to rapidly chase down its prey, thanks to its uniquely evolved long legs. These creatures are often unwarranted guests in homes, where they actually help in reducing the population of other unwanted insects.
