Description

Tetragnatha are known as 'stretch spiders' due to their elongated body shape, which helps them blend seamlessly into their surroundings like twigs or branches. A fascinating trait of Tetragnatha is their ability to 'play dead' by stretching out straight and becoming almost invisible on plants. Contrary to the unsettling beliefs often associated with spiders, Tetragnatha are harmless to humans and play a significant role in controlling insect populations by feeding on common pests.
