Description

Members of the family Tiphiidae are a compelling group of solitary wasps. Despite their fierce appearance, these wasps typically target beetle larvae, not humans. A common misconception is that all wasps are aggressive towards humans and sting repeatedly; however, Tiphiidae primarily uses their sting to paralyze prey for their offspring rather than for defense.
