Urostylididae
Scientific name: Urostylididae
Description
Urostylididae are a relatively mysterious group to the Western world, as they are mainly found in East Asia. Compared to other true bugs, Urostylididae often have antennae that are longer than their bodies. Like other Hemiptera insects, Urostylididae use a straw (their mouth) hanging from their chest to pierce plant tissue and suck out juice. This feeding behavior causes small wounds in the plant, which increases the likelihood of infection.
