Description
Despite often being dubbed as a mere nuisance, the Vespula genus, commonly associated with the term 'wasp', performs pivotal roles in natural ecosystems. These creatures are not only critical pollinators but also act as natural pest controllers, feeding on other insects to manage populations. Interestingly, the aggression associated with Vespula is largely a defensive mechanism; they generally do not attack unless threatened or provoked. This counters the usual misconception of wasps as inherently aggressive creatures.
