Description
Belonging to the genus Anthrenus, these tiny creatures often stir annoyance and curiosity in equal measure. Commonly found in our homes, Anthrenus are known not for their size, but for their unexpected diet: these beetles are indeed fabric aficionados. They have a peculiar appetite for natural fibers, making them inadvertent enemies of carpets, clothes, and upholstery. Anthrenus actually require keratin, a protein found in these fibers, for growth and development.
