Description
With their flamboyant colors, Arctia are a genus that contradicts the notion that moths are dull doyennes of the night. Often sporting vibrant reds and yellows, Arctia are diurnal, belying the common misconception that all moths are nocturnal. These moths not only serve as pollinators but also play a role in educating us about the ecological importance of moths, demonstrating the variety and vitality often overlooked in their more famous butterfly cousins.
