Description
Contrary to what their common name suggests, Ctenolepisma are not fish but fascinating insects that belong to the order Zygentoma. Often referred to as 'living fossils,' these creatures have changed very little over the last 400 million years. They thrive in dark environments and feed primarily on carbohydrates such as sugars and starches. Surprisingly, these insects are also capable of surviving without food for many months, demonstrating an incredible adaptability to challenging conditions.
