Scientific name: Exomala

Description

Exomala is a genus of shining leaf chafers, often misunderstood due to their brilliant, metallic sheen which can often be mistaken for harmful invasive beetles. These beetles play a crucial role in the ecosystem by recycling nutrients back into the soil and promoting plant health. Interestingly, despite their glitzy appearance, Exomala primarily feeds on decomposing wood and plant debris, far from the voracious plant predators people often mistake them for.
