Description
Frankliniella play dual roles in their ecosystems鈥攂oth as pollinators and pests. While they are pivotal in pollen transport for some plants, they are infamous for spreading the plant-damaging Tospovirus. One curious misconception is that Frankliniella are harmless due to their size, but in high numbers, they can cause significant damage to crops by stunting growth and discoloring fruits, which underscores their impact on agriculture regardless of their diminutive stature.
