Scientific name: Gibbium
Smooth spider beetles
Scientific name: Gibbium

Description

Despite resembling menacing parasites, Gibbium are benign scavengers that play a subtle, yet significant role in our ecosystems. Belonging to the order of beetles, these creatures are often mistaken for ticks or small spiders due to their glossy, humped backs and compact structure. Scientifically, however, they are harmless, feeding primarily on dry plant matter and avoiding human interaction.
