Description
The genus Halictus comprises a group of predominantly metallic-hued bees, commonly referred to as sweat bees due to their attraction to human perspiration. Unlike the common misconception that all bees are part of large, hierarchical colonies, many species within Halictus exhibit solitary behaviors, with some forming small, simple social structures.
