Description
Though sometimes mistaken for spiders, members of the genus Leiobunum actually belong to the harvestman family, distinct for their fused body segments and absence of silk glands. These intriguing arachnids are often noted for their long, spindly legs which give them a ghostly appearance. Contrary to popular myth, Leiobunum are completely harmless to humans as they possess no venom or biting fangs, relying instead on their camouflage and speed to evade predators.
