Myzus are fascinating members of the aphid family, known for their ability to reproduce at an astonishing rate. A single Myzus can give birth to live young without mating, a process known as parthenogenesis. Despite their small size, they have a major impact on agriculture by transmitting various plant viruses. Contrary to popular belief, they do not devour the plant tissues outright but rather feed on the sap, requiring farmers to manage their populations carefully to prevent damage.
