Description
Though relatively small, members of the genus Popillia are famously known as voracious leaf feeders. One notable species within this genus can cause significant damage to a wide variety of plants, leading to considerable economic losses in agriculture. They might look harmless, but their larvae - colloquially referred to as grubs - are notorious for feeding on grassroots, rendering beautiful lawns unsightly. It鈥檚 a classic case of deceptive appearances, where a fetching insect is a concealed marauder of the green world.
