Description
Pseudomyrmex genus is quite unique with its slender, wasp-like appearance. Endowed with elongated bodies and a potent sting, they differ significantly from the ordinary garden variety ants. Pseudomyrmex specialize in an interesting ecological partnership, often residing in and defending the thorny acacia plants, which in return provide them nourishment and shelter. This mutual benefit showcases a sophisticated level of coevolution seldom appreciated in the insect world.
