Description
Despite often being mistaken for a blood-sucking pest due to its bright, alarming coloration, Pyrrhocoris is completely harmless to humans. These fascinating creatures, commonly seen congregating in large groups on tree trunks, primarily feed on seeds and dead organic matter. Their striking red and black markings make them a vivid spectacle, yet this also serves as a warning to predators about their foul taste, a classic case of aposematism in nature.
