Description
A fascinating aspect of Scarabaeidae is their relationship with ancient cultures, most notably the Egyptians who revered them as sacred symbols of rebirth, manifesting in countless amulets and artworks. Despite their revered status, Scarabaeidae are essentially dung beetles, playing a crucial ecological role by recycling nutrients and enhancing soil health through the burial of dung.
