Description
The order Orthoptera includes a diverse group of insects, known for their distinctive features such as elongated bodies and powerful hind legs, which are often associated with jumping. A common misconception is that all members of this order are harmful pests; however, many species play important roles in ecosystems by aiding in pollination and serving as food sources for various animals. Interestingly, while they are often recognized by their chirping sounds, not all insects in this order produce audible sounds; in fact, some communicate in other unique ways.
